Studying music abroad is a fantastic experience; it allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture and learn from remarkable teachers and musicians that you may not have access to in your home country. I studied instrumental voice pedagogy with a main instrument of piano and specializations in orchestra and choir conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and film composition at Berklee College of Music in Valencia. So far, my international education journey has been musically and culturally enriching.
My path to studying in Vienna and Valencia was challenging, as I found that the options for music programs in terms of study locations were limited. However, I chose to study in Vienna for several reasons. The city is a thriving music center with numerous professional orchestras performing every night, as well as operas, musicals, and jazz clubs. I believed that this vibrant musical environment would foster the creativity of my piano playing, composition, and overall musical knowledge, and I am happy to say that this was the case.
